Jupiter - Petite Polka - Trumpet/Cornet Solo with Piano

Originally published in 1915, Edwin Franko Goldman’s “Jupiter” solo is a fantastic vehicle to showcase a young Cornet/Trumpet player. The level of difficulty being rather modest, this solo remains well accessible to a broad range of skill levels while retaining the flavor and showmanship of the early 20th Century’s band pieces.

The range compass is not extreme (only as high as a written “G” at the top of the staff, with a couple optional “A’s” above) and remains mostly diatonic in scope.

Performance option: to obtain a more rounded “period” sound, it is recommended to use conical brass instruments, having the solo played on cornet whenever possible rather than on trumpet.

This exciting solo feature will be a great fit for your student!

Available as Brass Quintet versions for featired Trumpet/Cornet or Trombone/Baritone, or with piano accompaniment for Trumpet/Cornet Solo or Trombone/Baritone Solo
