This publication is pretty much the de facto standard for Hungry Five-style bands. Seemingly every such band has a tattered copy of this book in their collection.
Originally published in 1931 through Rayner-Dalheim and Company, this was later reissued through Hansen House publications and spawned a number of followup publications featuring Spain, Ireland, Broadway, Ride Again, Italy, Ragtime, and Go To College.
Also featured in these earliest Hungry Five books were a series of "Wisecracks," pre-written jokes and skits derived from Herr Louie's radio programs intended for use as stage banter.
