A fun number to play, on its own or combined with other TV theme songs on your program. The Rhythmic nature of the tune may pose a little challenge for younger players, and covers a fair degree of many of the instrument ranges. A good showcase for the variety of sounds that can come from even a small woodwind ensemble!

Flexibility: The Bassoon and Bass Clarinet parts are similar enough that the arrangement will work just fine without either of them. A tenor sax could play off of the Bass Clarinet part but would need to take a few notes up an octave due to instrument range limits. Adding piccolo to double the flute part adds an extra brilliance on top of it all!

Adele’s beautiful recording of this Bob Dylan classic is presented here in an arrangement for trombone with Big Band accompaniment. Even for a young ensemble, most of this arrangement would not be too difficult, though the trombone soloist needs to have a solid high B-flat, and the lead trumpet also needs the high C to double the soloist up the octave for a short time.

Flexibility: This arrangement will work in multiple contexts. As initially scored, a full big band plus trombone soloist would require 5 trombonists, but in this case the 3rd trombone part could be omitted. If desired, the Solo Trombone part can be performed instead by a vocalist - Lead sheet and Piano/Vocal parts are included in this package.

Also available as a Trombone Solo with Piano Accompaniment or as a Vocal solo

This Mardi Gras classic is presented here in an arrangement for a small trad-Jazz band. The 4-piece horn section passes the melody back-and-forth to give everyone a chance to shine before the open solos section allowing a chance to showcase your best improvisers.

Flexibility: This arrangement will work in multiple contexts. A vocal part is included with chord changes to work as a Lead Sheet and can be placed before, after, or in place of instrumental solos. Instrumental backgrounds in the solo section are intended to support the vocals, but are not ideal behind instrumental soloists.

Difficulty: None of the horn parts are very range-intensive, so a younger group of players shouldn’t need to be intimidated by range requirements. A good vehicle to showcase a vocalist or instrumentalists with a great standard!

Also available in a Piano/Vocal/Guitar edition or Flexible Instrumental Solo with Piano Acc. or Brass Quintet

This classic hit from the Mamas and the Papas is presented here in an all-instrumental arrangement for 5 Horns and Rhythm section. The tune gets passed around the horn section so everybody gets the melody at some point, and most players are featured to some degree. The flute solo from the original recording is rendered here as a sax soli that begins in unison and splits into dazzling harmony.

Difficulty: the horn parts are not excessively range taxing. This would make for a fun instrumental feature on a program with anywhere from young players to community groups who don’t have the complement of a full big band. A fun piece to play, and fun for audiences to hear again!
